Aimee Raupp Beauty, Fertility-Friendly Natural Skincare

Jess Arnaudin

Hi, beauties! I'm super excited to share about my newest skincare #obsession, Aimee Raupp Beauty! Aimee's products have been on my radar for a while now after I first experienced her line at one of Nitika Chopra's Self Love Celebrations. I also heard rave reviews from my friend and mentor Rebecca Casciano, founder of Sacred Beauty Salon (p.s. now enrolling for online series happening later this fall!)

After learning more about Aimee's work in fertility and women's health, the philosophy of her no-nonsense natural line began to deeply resonate with me. Being pregnant these last six months has been the greatest blessing and gift. Every day I feel the flutters of life, and a supreme connection to the women who came before me. It's like I'm finally part of a club that I never even knew existed. The thought of someone trying to get pregnant, and being denied that experience because of health problems makes my heart ache. It's something that isn't really talked about enough among women. So often I think we feel alone and isolated in our experiences.

When so many of the products on shelves have been linked to hormone disruption, it seems like a clear choice to purge those questionable items out of our beauty bags for good... especially when fertility is involved. All of Aimee Raupp's products are hand crafted, organic, gluten, soy, dairy and cruelty free. What's even better is that each ARB product comes with a mantra card that reads, "You are beautiful" reminding us that true beauty buds from self love and self respect.

So let's talk details! I'm absolutely loving the skin-softening yummy golden nectar also known as the Organic Nourishing Oil. It's lightweight and the blend of Bulgarian pink roses, helichrysum, turmeric and geranium is absoluely divine. It just feels like a treat to apply. I find it goes on best when I spritz my skin with an herbal toner, then press in 2-3 pumps of the oil and massage gently working upward (gravity does enough downward, thank you very much).

Another standout is the Organic Belly Butter. I've been scooping a quarter sized whipped dollop out and applying right after I shower when skin is most receptive to lock in hydration. It's a simple, straightforward formulation mixed with coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, vitamin E, and rosehip seed oil (Rosehip is proven to reduce hyperpigmentation) and a blend of uplifting pure essential oils. It's called "Belly Butter" but I can see this being great for anyone, belly or not! I've been applying it on my arms, too, and seeing improvement to the pesky keratosis pilaris that sometimes appears (especially during times of increased stress.)

Lastly, I'm crazy about Aimee's aromatherapy rollers! They come in a set containing, Chill, Happy, and Love and you better believe these will make it into my overnight bag that I'll bring along to the hospital. They are a great alternative to synthetic perfumes and are the perfect midday pick me up to roll onto pulse points. My favorite so far is LOVE which contains pink rose, ylang ylang, jasmine, and sandalwood...mmm...dreamy!

COCOKIND, Organic Skincare That Won't Break The Bank

Jess Arnaudin

Kindness costs nothing and gains everything.
— Cocokind Founder, Priscilla Tsai

Now that I have a little one on the way, choosing natural skincare with minimally processed ingredients is more important than ever. Enter: Cocokind Skincare. I was over the moon to find this organic and fair trade certified line that proves simple doesn't mean simplistic. Like their moniker suggests, one of the main ingredients in their formulations is, yep, you guessed it --good ole' trusty coconut oil! In addition, they use components like avocado, rosehip, and grapeseed oils, shea butter, matcha green tea, a host of delicious essential oils, and also marine derived algae such as chlorella and spirulina. Have a look at the reason behind each ingredient, here

What's more, the line is actually affordable! So many times I fall in love with a brand only to realize it's a total "splurge" for most of my friends and clients. I definitely don't want to be the skin therapist who only recommends high-priced items, so I'm thrilled to add Cocokind to my list! (The Organic Soothing Salve in their new baby line, pictured above, is $11.99.)

But in addition to their clean and cost-effective line up, I was also really drawn to their founder Priscilla Tsai and her mission to create a socially conscious company. Cocokind donates a percentage of proceeds to provide clean water, nutritious meals, and educational books to children in need all over the world. Check out this list of the non-profits they work with.

It means so much when I find entrepreneurs within the beauty industry who are committed to giving back, while following their dreams. Working within the "beauty world" for nearly a decade, I always find myself with nose pressed against the glass of vanity. Often I ask, "what am I doing to make a real difference?" "what's my purpose in this field?" Questions like these keep me grounded and encourage me to seek our makers and creators with a heart for the triple bottom line -- people, planet, and profit! While I find it exhilarating to find new favorite products (hellooo, Organic Ultra Chlorophyll Mask, $18.99!) ultimately I hope the end far exceeds the means.

You can bet the nursery I'm dreaming up will be stocked to the brim with these green goodies! Have you tried Cocokind? I'd love to hear your thoughts, feedback or questions! Feel free to contact me in the comments below or by email.
